Ben Levine
Benjamin Alexander Levine was born on August 25, 1966, in Rochester New York. His mother and his father had met while both were students at Rochester Institute of Technology. His mother, Teresa Ann Howland, is from West Hartford Connecticut and his father, Steven Saul Levine, is from Brooklyn, NY. Ben grew up in the Northeast, in Rochester, New York; Rochester, Vermont; and the Boston area. He moved with his family to Tennessee in the middle of his first year of high school, and graduated from Greeneville High School, in Greeneville, TN.
Ben has both a B.S. and an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, and a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA. He is currently Director of ASIC Engineering at Cryptography Research, Inc. in San Francisco. He was previously Director of Engineering at Rapport, Inc. in Redwood City. Prior to moving to California, Ben was on the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Pittsburgh.
